We drive past the Mount Timpanogos Temple in the dark, and the stomach butterflies start flying. It's the landmark that lets me know I am getting close to Timberline Middle. There's a certain smile that I've come to look forward to, that Tabitha gives me in a subtle glance as we commute together: the tacit signal of her characteristic compassion, telling me of the empathy she has for those in the struggle of the first year of teaching. My mind then goes to the thought by the Prophet of the Restoration: "Thy mind, O man! if thou wilt lead a soul unto salvation, must stretch as high as the utmost heavens, and search into and contemplate the darkest abyss, and the broad expanse of eternity—thou must commune with God."
